A common misconception is that longer answers score higher. They do not. Readers look for the specific required element. Answer each part in one to three sentences, label your responses A, B, C, and D, and always tie claims back to the data when the prompt asks you to.

When a QA source spans decades, the exam almost always wants you to describe change over time (Part B) and then compare two quantities (Part C). Circle the largest and smallest values and the endpoints before writing. Also confirm the units — here everything is a percentage, so you can compare columns directly without converting raw counts.
Attacking Parts A Through C: Reading the Data
Part B (Describe the trend, 1961–2021). A trend answer needs direction plus data anchoring. A conclusion is a claim supported by data: "Even at its 2021 peak, women's 27% share of Congress remained well below their roughly 51% share of the population, meaning women are underrepresented in Congress relative to their numbers." The magic move is the comparison plus an interpretive claim (underrepresentation), both grounded in the figures. Simply restating both numbers without a conclusion may not earn the point.

The point rewards a logical, concept-accurate explanation — not a specific opinion. Name the model, define the behavior, and connect it to the representation data.
Timing, Structure, and Common Point-Losers
The most frequent mistakes are predictable. First, describing a trend without citing data in Part B. Second, restating numbers in Part C without an actual conclusion or comparison. Third, in Part D, defining the trustee/delegate models but never connecting them to the data or to descriptive representation — definition alone rarely earns the point. Fourth, misreading units, such as treating a percentage as a raw seat count.
One more habit that helps readers: literally write "A.", "B.", "C.", "D." so the reader finds each required element instantly. Answer in the order asked. Keep sentences declarative. If a prompt uses two verbs — like "draw a conclusion and explain" — make sure both appear in your response, because graders check for each. Precision, not volume, wins the QA question every time.

The comparison plus the underrepresentation claim earns the conclusion point.
For Part D, name the model, define it, and connect it to descriptive representation: "D. Descriptive representation means Congress demographically mirrors the population.
