Selye's General Adaptation Syndrome (GAS)
The first stage is alarm reaction. The sympathetic nervous system activates, adrenaline surges, and resources mobilize — heart rate and blood pressure spike as the body prepares to defend itself. Resistance temporarily drops before the body gears up.
